Precision Editing at The Speed of Light

Having been through the process of switching to VIM as my main editor I can say that two things are true.

The first is that I now see what all of the fuss is about. Everything is better with VIM. I can write faster code, my typing has came on leaps and bounds and it was definitely worth the effort. I am not joking when I say that now find TextMate clunky and cumbersome.

The second thing that I can say about learning how to use VIM is that I know that I have a long, way to go before I’m a master of it. But this is not a bad thing because even with just a little bit of knowledge I’m able to use VIM as main editor and when I discover something new it means that I’m able to get even faster.

Drew Neil is a master of VIM. He runs vimcasts.org here’s the video of Drew’s talk at Oredev
